About This Project

Sahanaz Parveen is the head of a severely distressed family living in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. Her husband, Azam Rabbani, has been suffering from mental illness for the past two years and is currently under medical treatment. Due to his condition, he is completely unable to work. He was previously the sole breadwinner of the family.

Following the loss of income, the family has fallen into extreme financial hardship. They have accumulated significant debt and are struggling to meet daily living expenses. The eldest daughter, who is divorced, lives at home without stable employment. The other two daughters are married but are also facing financial instability and are unable to support the family.

Currently, the family has no regular source of income. A small online clothing business run by the eldest daughter provides limited and irregular earnings, which are insufficient to cover basic necessities, rent, and medical costs.

The family is living in a rented house, with unpaid rent and a real risk of eviction. Ongoing medical expenses and accumulated debt have placed them in a dire and vulnerable situation.

IUT Lighthouse aims to raise funds to provide urgent financial assistance to stabilize the family, support essential living costs, continue medical treatment, and reduce immediate financial pressure. All funds raised will be monitored and used transparently to ensure they directly benefit the family during this critical period.
